Galetti Commercial and Industrial whose head office is situated in Cape Town, opened their doors in Johannesburg a little over a year ago and have been enjoying great success so far.
After deciding to open the company in 2006, Tony Galetti joined forces with co-MD Francois Staples to form what is now one of the most successful independent brokerages in Cape Town.
Tony Galetti, who has a long history in the property market decided to start his own company as he recognised the value of starting out on his own and creating a company that valued not only its clients but their employees too. “Both Tony and I had the same vision of creating a great working environment where employees would enjoy coming to work and have the incentive to excel in the industry,” Tony explains. “In the property industry, there are often disputes between employees with regards to commissions as well as ownership of leads. At Galetti, we have developed a system where all parties concerned will get rewarded on the conclusion of a deal. As a result, brokers are normally happy to work together and pass leads amongst themselves. This leads to client satisfaction and is a big reason for the continued success of Galetti, both in Cape Town and now Johannesburg.”
Francois shared the same vision as Tony and joined Galetti shortly after Tony opened the Cape Town branch. Since opening up a branch in Johannesburg Galetti has been doing very well in the market having just closed two big deals. “We placed CHC resources in 9899m2 in Pemona and Aquarius Shipping in 20 000m2 in Sunnyrock,” Francois says. “Both sites had been vacant for quite some time with many prominent brokerages attempting to let them so we were very pleased with the outcome.” Francois believes that their success in Johannesburg so far is that Galetti has stuck with their winning formula. Many of their Cape Town clients already own and buy property in Johannesburg and need a brokerage that offers them options in both provinces. “There is a lot of national buying, leasing and selling and very few brokerages offer that complete national footprint,” Francois says. “Galetti is hoping to open up a branch in Durban soon so in the future we will be able to offer our clients even more options and opportunities.”
